As the only professional supply chain organization focused on warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment, the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) brings seasoned professionals and those new to the industry together to master best practices, establish valuable relationships, and stay on top of a rapidly changing industry. To remain relevant amidst a growing number of competing organizations, WERC asked birdsong gregory to develop a strategic, insights-based plan to grow attendance at the annual conference while organizing and optimizing WERC’s robust offering on their website.
Solution
We began with an in-depth research study that included WERC member interviews, surveys, and focus groups and culminated in a new value proposition as well as recommendations on changes to pricing, activities, and benefits for members. Based on those insights, we then developed a compelling theme that captured the experience of an intimate, collaborative conference event like WERC 2024. We also evolved the WERC.org UX and UI experience – working seamlessly with the existing back-end platform.

Results
The 2024 WERC conference grew by over 200 attendees from the previous year, and pre/post-show marketing generated buzz with clear communication and distinctive visuals. To date, WERC continues to add new members while retaining a higher percentage of existing.
